Free Demolition Debris Disposal

Tuesday, October 20 - Saturday, October 31

Residents of Biddeford (no contractors) can dispose of acceptable debris In 1 cubic yard quantities free of charge. Acceptable debris includes, but is not limited to, plumbing, fixtures, carpeting, lumber, etc. Sheetrock, roofing paper and shingles cannot be accepted.

Debris must be brought to the Transfer Station at Biddeford Public Works. Please cut all debris into three foot lengths.

Recycling Center/Transfer Station Hours

Sunday & Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday, Friday, Saturday: 7am - 2:45pm
Wednesday & Thursday: 9am - 4:45pm

The City of Biddeford’s Recycling/Transfer Station is located at 371 Hill Street and accepts the following items for disposal.

Recycling Center:

  • Automotive batteries
  • Brush ($10yd for contractors)
  • Cardboard
  • Glass jars 
  • Grass clippings ($10yd for contractors)
  • Junk steel
  • Leaves ($10yd for contractors)
  • Metal
  • Milk jugs
  • Newspaper
  • Plastics Number 1 and Number 2
  • Recyclables
  • Tin cans
  • Tires
  • Waste motor oil
  •  Latex Paint (must be dried up)

Sherwin Williams will accept LATEX paint that is NOT dried, up to five 1 Gal cans per visit. If you have more than 5, you must call them first at 282-9511

Transfer Station:

  • Bulky household items
  • Carpeting - Throw Rugs / Decorative (cut into 2-foot square pieces)
  • Couches (cut in half)
  • Demo debris - Wall-to-wall carpeting, wood, vinyl, ceiling tiles, etc ($20 per cubic yard cut into 3-foot pieces) 
  • Household Items (One cubic yard FREE for Biddeford
         residents per day cut into 3-foot pieces)
  • Furniture
  • Large items
  • Mattresses / box springs (broken down)
  • Recliners / sleeper sofas (broken down)
  • Televisions, computer monitors and CPUs

Other Criteria & Fees:

  • $20 fee for Freon containing items
  • 4 tires per year - cars and pick-up trucks only: no fee
  • After 4 free, pick-up truck tires: $8 each
  • After 4 free, car tires: $5
  • No construction vehicle, farm equipment or dump truck tires accepted
  • Tires mounted on rims are not accepted
