The development of the city’s new Comprehensive Plan was informed by a robust, year-long community engagement process which featured multiple survey opportunities, as well as direct input from the Planning Board, City Council, City Committees, Boards and Commissions (Biddeford Climate Task Force, Historic Preservation Commission, Conservation Commission, Citizen Advisory Committee), local stakeholders and city staff. Additionally, the Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission planning staff reviewed and provided input on the City Comprehensive Plan Chapters to ensure compliance with State of Maine Growth Management law.
