GIS Division

Welcome to the City of Biddeford GIS web page. Since January 2017, Biddeford GIS has been a division of the Technologies Department.

In 2001, at the request of the City’s leadership, the GIS division was created as a part of the City’s Engineering Department. Biddeford GIS’s main purpose is to support other departments by creating data-based maps. Some of the projects Biddeford GIS has been involved in include the 2012 Open Space Plan, snow plowing and trash pickup routing, sewer mapping and tax maps. Along with Biddeford’s tax maps, Biddeford GIS updates the tax maps for the City of Saco as part of the inter-local agreement between the two communities.

GIS INTERACTIVE MAP GALLERY

The interactive Map Gallery has various online maps for the public. This new feature is hosted by ESRI. Check back often for new content.

GIS MAP ROOM

Most maps created by Biddeford GIS are available as PDF files to the public upon request. The division only fills requests for maps already created; requests from the public for new mapping cannot be honored. Some mapping can be downloaded from the Map Room.

GIS DATA CATALOG

Data sets are also available by request or on this site’s Data Catalog page. Data is available as-is and there is no guarantee of the accuracy or currency of the data. Data set availability is limited to sets already created. Biddeford GIS cannot create new data sets for the public.
