Subject: Re: FOIA request - records retention

Hi Jim,

I need to amend my request to include the records retention policy for petitions. Specifically the records retention policy in place when the petitions were submitted in 2014 to get the parking meter question on the ballot and any changes since then that are applicable to petitions.

Thank you

Kathy,

The City uses the state law regarding retention of records. We do not have our own. You can find the state law by clicking on this https://www.maine.gov/sos/arc/records/local/localschedules.html The petitions were held for at least the 6 months required and the ballots were held for more than the 2 months required (not required for 22 months because in 2014 there were no candidates).
