Municipal Airport Runway Resurfacing

Updated August 13, 2020

The Biddeford Municipal Airport (B19) is undergoing major runway resurfacing as well as runway and approach lighting replacement in summer 2020. The airport is currently closed to all air traffic. Prior to filing a flight plan, anyone planning to travel via air to B19 should continue to check NOTAMS for updates as the project progresses.

Project completion is expected in mid-October.

Bidding of this project occurred from April 3, 2020 through May 1, 2020 at which time bids were opened publicly. The Low Bidder for the project is Sargent Corp. of Stillwater, ME with a bid price of $4,675,976.70. 100% of the project will be paid for through a Federal Aviation Administration grant awarded last year that requires no local match.

The picture below shows how the project has progressed as of August 13. Paving is expected to take place in two weeks, with light and tree clearing work to follow.
