Subject: Bangor Daily News public records request -- 09/20/2023
Dear Chief JoAnne Fiske,
I hope this finds you well. Please find the public records request from the Bangor Daily News below and feel free to reach out with any questions.
The Bangor Daily News respectfully requests that the Biddeford Police Department make available for inspection and copying, pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A. §408:
- A copy of your agency’s “Homelessness Crisis Protocol.”
- Any accompanying list of resources given to people who are homeless as may be required by the homelessness crisis policy.
If the Biddeford Police Department objects to the provision of any of these public records on the basis that they are not subject to the FOAA or otherwise not subject to disclosure, please specify in writing the nature of the materials that your agency refuses to provide and the legal basis for that denial within five (5) days, pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A. §409.
Since the disclosure of such information is in the public interest, we ask that fees related to the fulfillment of this request be waived. It is likely to contribute significantly to the public’s understanding of the activities of the government and is not primarily in the commercial interest of the Bangor Daily News.
Thank you for your time, and please let me know if I can answer any questions.
Thanks,
Sawyer Loftus
