Governor Janet Mills has issued an Executive Order requiring all non-essential businesses and operations in Maine to close their physical locations that are public facing, meaning those that allow in-person contact with non-employees. The Order also closes non-essential business locations that require more than ten workers to be in a space where physical distancing is not possible. The Order is effective tomorrow, March 25, 2020 and extends for a period of 14 days through April 8, 2020.
The City of Biddeford has already limited access to municipal buildings and established protocols for a continuation of services without face to face contact. Our team will be meeting in the morning to discuss additional changes to existing protocols given the Governor’s latest Order. We will be able to provide additional updates tomorrow. Please know that Police, Fire, Wastewater Treatment and Trash Collection are all currently considered essential services and will continue for the duration of the executive order.
