[ARCHIVED] Latest Updates from Public Works

Brush Disposal Resumes at Recycling Center

Beginning on Monday, April 13, Biddeford residents can resume disposal of brush, leaves, and grass clippings at the Biddeford Recycling Center located at 371 Hill Street. Large item disposal will continue to be available for residents only. Contractors are asked to seek alternative methods of disposal of waste and brush until further notice.

Items that are collected in the City of Biddeford’s curbside recycling program, such as cardboard and newspaper, will still not be accepted at the Recycling Center at this time. For more information, please visit www.biddefordmaine.org/recyclingcenter.

Free Curbside Brush Pickup to End After Week of April 13

With brush disposal services resuming at the Recycling Center, the temporary curbside brush disposal program will be ending after the week of April 13, 2020. During the final week, residents who would like to use this service must place their brush at the curb by their regular trash pickup time. Any brush that is not placed curbside by a resident’s trash collection time will not be eligible for free curbside pickup.

Temporary "Pay As You Throw" Bag Replacement

We will be continuing our temporary replacement program for Pay As You Throw orange bags for residents who currently receive curbside trash pickup services. Thank you for understanding the intention behind this bag replacement program and limiting your use of PAYT bags to regular household trash. We cannot replace bags that are used to dispose of leaves or other debris. We appreciate your cooperation.
