[ARCHIVED] Biddeford Police Department and United Way of York County Partner for Coat Drive

Coat Drive Box

Help us collect at least 250 coats to distribute to individuals in need!

The Biddeford Police Department has partnered with the United Way of York County for a winter coat drive that will benefit Biddeford community members.

There are eight locations throughout the city that new or gently-used coats will be collected: the Biddeford Police Department, Biddeford Fire Department, Arundel Ford, Banded Brewing Company, Biddeford Middle School, Brady’s Screen Printing, Godbout Plumbing, and the University of New England’s Alfond Arena.

Collection boxes were distributed to each drop-off location on Monday, December 21. Donations must be dropped off by Friday, January 15, 2020.

“After the events of this difficult year, more families than ever are in need of help making ends meet this winter. The Biddeford community is known for always being ready and willing to help out a neighbor in need, and we wanted to be a part of that by partnering with local businesses to create an opportunity for people to share in the giving spirit,” said Sgt. Steve Gorton.

“The United Way of York County is blessed to have community partners who understand the importance of improving lives and creating better communities,” said Brian Petrovek, UWYC’s President and CEO. “Providing winter coats for 250 folks in our community is one example of how great things can be accomplished when we work together.”
