[ARCHIVED] Activity Boxes for Seniors

Activity Boxes for Seniors

Realizing the pandemic has been especially difficult for senior residents of Biddeford who are home bound and therefore isolated, the Biddeford Recreation staff at the Ross Center is putting together activity boxes to deliver to their homes. Each box will contain brand new items such as puzzles, word search books, playing cards and other activities to help pass the time in a positive way. We are also sending a variety of individually-wrapped goodies for them to enjoy. We hope they will bring a smile to their faces and hours of enjoyment.

The folks at Meals on Wheels have kindly offered to deliver some of the boxes to citizens on their route. Our staff will be delivering others as well. We expect it will be a very nice surprise for them!

We purchased enough supplies to fill 25 boxes and plan to begin delivery next week. We’d like to keep up the effort, as there are many more seniors to reach out to in the community. If you would like to donate to these efforts, we have set up a drop box for the following supplies in the hallway of the community center for anyone wishing to drop items off at their convenience. Thanks so much in advance!
