CALEA Accreditation Team Invites Public Comment on the Biddeford Police Department
A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®), will complete an examination of all aspects of the Biddeford Police Department policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services, on March 7-8, 2022.
The purpose of the assessment is to determine if the Biddeford Police Department meets all applicable standards required by the Commission in order to be re-accredited. CALEA accreditation is a voluntary process that the Biddeford Police Department has pursued in order to maintain and implement the best practices and demonstrate the commitment of the men and women of the department to professional law enforcement in and for our community.
As part of the assessment process, agency employees and members of the Biddeford community are encouraged to offer comments to the assessment team regarding the division’s candidacy for re-accreditation. Due to the current pandemic, the assessment team will receive public comment by several means:
A public forum will be held in council chambers on Monday, March 07, 2022 beginning at 3:30 PM. Those who can’t or prefer not to attend in person may participate via Zoom by logging into the session through Zoom, Meeting ID: 929 0725 4281.
