Now Seeking Election Workers

Are you ready to help America vote? Sign up to be a poll worker.

Have you ever wanted to get involved in the election process? We currently have openings for Election Wardens, Ward Clerks and Election Workers.

Election Workers

The City of Biddeford is seeking residents to work as paid Election Workers for November 7, 2023. Election Clerks check in registered voters, hand out ballots and are involved with the closing process at the end of the day.  They must be a US Citizen, at least 18 years of age, and a registered voter in Biddeford.

Election workers cannot be a candidate for office or a member of a candidate’s immediate family.

Election Wardens and Ward Clerks

Election Wardens and Ward Clerks are elected positions, one of each for each of the 7 wards, that will be decided at the November 7, 2023 Election. Nomination papers are available now and require 20 valid signatures. Papers are due back on September 5. Candidates must be a US Citizen, be at least 18 years old, and a registered voter in Biddeford. They may not be an officer of a municipal committee of a party.

Election Wardens are an important part of Election Day. They are responsible for the overall operation of the polling place. They attend the polls, maintain order at the voting place, enforce election laws, supervise election officials and perform other duties at the polls.

Ward Clerks are responsible for assisting the Warden with the overall operation of the polling place.

If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact the City Clerk’s office at 207-284-9307 or email robin.patterson@biddefordmaine.org for more information.
